How to Gain Access to Free Codes

If you are already a RAMP member and would like to access another of our free codes (excluding RASCAL, IMBA, and SNAP/RADTRAD), but you don't see the option to download the code from its webpage, please take the following actions.

As a RAMP Member you are eligible to download any of our free codes. However, we require all code names to be listed on NDAs approved by NRC staff before access is granted. Please download the NDA (NDA download link), fill it out, and submit it to NRC at RAMP [at] NRC.gov or you may update your previous NDA to include your code of interest and send it to RAMP [at] NRC.gov.

Note, if you are a member of an Implementing Agreement via your organization, please request the code at RAMP [at] NRC.gov and cc your organization’s Point of Contact.

If you are interested in our premium codes, RASCAL, IMBA, or SNAP/RADTRAD, see their individual code pages for access information.

If you are not yet a RAMP member, please follow application instructions below.

Only RAMP members with preapproved code access can download RAMP codes.

To apply for RAMP membership, you will need to register on our website and download the following non-disclosure agreement (NDA download link), review it entirely, fill it out according to the step-by-step instructions below, and email it to RAMP [at] NRC.gov.

Download the NDA (NDA download link).

Enter the name (and acronym) of your institution on the first blank line.

On the second blank line, list all codes that you are interested in applying for. You may use the drop-down feature. You may list “All free codes” or “VIP – All RAMP codes” if you intend to use most or all codes.

NDA Part 1: Code Selection and Organization Name

Make sure that your acronym populates all numbered conditions of the NDA.

For Condition 11, ensure that you click the appropriate radio button to accurately label your organization as either a foreign entity (Select yes) or a United States entity (Select no).

NDA part 2: Foreign Entity

You are required to digitally sign your name, or complete your NDA, print it, and sign it.

Make sure to complete all details regarding your name, title, and your citizenship.

NDA part 3: Signature

On the following page, you are required to report your email address and organizational information.

For the section, “Describe your planned use of the NRC Code…”

Please provide, in as much detail as you can, which code(s) you are primarily interested in, what type of research and analysis you would like to use these codes for, and any other codes or physical experiments/measurements that you intend to compare your results to. Thoroughness in this section will expedite application review for U.S. commercial institutions and all non-U.S. applicants to RAMP.

NDA part 4: Organization Details

If you are an NRC contractor, provide your contractor information on Page 3.

If your organization has multiple applicants, they may all fill out and sign individual code user sections on Pages 4 and 5. If you are applying for the first time, you do not need to fill out Page 6.

NDA part 5: Multiple Applicants

Once all of the above steps have been completed, rename your NDA by personalizing its current file name, “NDA_CODENAME_Request_DateMMDDYYYY_FirstName_LastName” and email it to RAMP [at] nrc.gov.
