SIERRA ATD Release

Announcement

Announcement

The Software Integration for Environmental Radiological Release Assessments (SIERRA)  Atmospheric Transport and Diffusion (ATD) Module calculates atmospheric relative air concentrations to be used for dose calculations in near-field (control room), mid-field (EAB and LPZ) and far-field (80 km). The SIERRA ATD module improves upon the ATD modeling in the ARCON, PAVAN and XOQDOQ computer codes.

With the release of SIERRA ATD:

  • ARCON and PAVAN will no longer be available to download from the RAMP website and are being sent to The Radiation Safety Information Computational Center (RSICC) (https://rsicc.ornl.gov/Default.aspx).
  • Documentation for these codes will still be preserved under the Legacy Code Documents tab of SIERRA.
  • XOQDOQ will remain available through the NRCDose3 v1.1.4 download but will receive limited support from NRC staff.

Any RAMP user with an approved NDA before May 5, 2025, for PAVAN, ARCON, and/or NRCDose3 have been granted access to SIERRA. Please contact RAMP.Resource [at] nrc.gov (RAMP[dot]Resource[at]nrc[dot]gov) if you do not have access to the SIERRA download.  From this point on, users will have to submit an NDA requesting SIERRA access.
