Upon selecting "Save Case," in a RASCAL (v4.3.3) STDose case, an error dialog appears which reads as follows: "The file save dialog encountered an error. Error number = 429 ActiveX component can't create object Try the save again." Any help as to fixing this error would be appreciated.
Response from RASCAL Development Team
The RASCAL Development Team (RDT) saw a problem similar to this last year in the related areas of the STDose GUI where a newer VB.NET component was being called. It seems like those DLL components were not being properly registered during the installation process. We determined that it was not a failure of the install but some different security setting that was being used on NRC machines. Try to run an STDose case and then after calculations are complete, on the source term summary tab click either the View Balance or View Importance button. Those operations use a similar type DLL and if they also do not run then we can assume the issue is registering those components. If this is the case then the RDT can provide a batch file and the registration tool to see if you can register them manually. You may need IT support for this depending on the security settings of the computer.

Thank you for the quick response. Both the View Balance and View Importance buttons return a dialog with the same error, Number 429 - "ActiveX component can't create object," so it seems the issue is the registration of DLL components.
Issues resolved
These issues were resolved for me by having RASCAL re-installed at the administrator level so that the DLL components were properly installed.
